Registered Manager

You should have experience and a sound knowledge on policies and procedures when it comes to running a Children's home - you are the responsible person. You should have a management style that balances control and direction and be passionate about bringing your own ideas for improvement.

What does the role involve?

Taking the Lead
As a Registered Manager you should know how to manage the team whilst giving the best duty of care to the young people.
Build Relationships
Listen to the young people's wishes and feelings and safeguard them whilst building positive relationships.
Provide Structure
Be a master of multi-tasking, setting boundaries and house rules, be a perfectionist with high standards.
Make Memories
Encourage participation in events and go above and beyond with suggestions for activities inside and outside of the home.
Be Supportive
All young people are different and will sometimes need high levels of supervision, you should be able to meet
the needs of children with challenging and complex behaviour with your focus being the best possible outcomes.

What requirements are there?

Inspire

You should be able to inspire the team, keep calm when things get tough, or plans change unexpectedly.

Manage

A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a role supervising and managing staff.

Care

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children.

Qualifications

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England).

Outstanding

Hold a GOOD or OUTSTANDING grade within your recent Ofsted Inspections.
